Trip to Costa Rica

Pura Vida

My husband and I took a trip to Costa Rica in June of 2019. It was love at first sight. The country is eco friendly and their people are even friendlier. We stayed at a beautiful hotel called Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest resort. We flew into San Jose and took a cab to Quepos where our hotel was located. Along the way our wonderful driver stopped to show us some of the sights including the alligators. Our hotel was located by the beach so we spent a lot of our 7 day trip (two days of mostly travel) at the different beaches in the area.

 Day One

Was spent all day at the beach and at the different pools. The resort had two pools and access to two beaches. We were also located in a rainforest so we got to see sloths hanging around the property along with lizards and iguanas.

Day Two

We went on a horse back ride through the rainforest. This was my first time riding a horse and it was wonderful. The tour company we used made sure to ask who did not have experience and set them up with a tamer horse. We rode the horses to a waterfall then down the river where we took a refreshing dip.

Back at the hotel we enjoyed one of our favorite drinks and enjoyed a delicious meal. Everything we ate during our stay tasted fresh and savory.

Day Three

Another day at the beach and we decided to go jet skiing we used a local tour company at the beach.

Then enjoyed some ceviche while a rain shower passed by.

Since we visited in June we did encounter some rain randomly during our time there which is normal for that time of year.

Day Four

We spent another day at the beach and went parasailing for the first time. Definitely recommend it to everyone we used Aguas Azules Parasailing Tours

Day Five

We went on a hike in Manuel Antonio Natural Preserve which led us to a beach and some howling monkeys. The hike was peaceful but definitely humid due to the location and rainy season; luckily no rain that day. There were some small tour groups looking for different monkeys we opted for going alone and we found plenty of animals. By the beach you’ll find some extra friendly monkeys snacking on fruits.

We then had some visitors at the hotel for dinner. They were wonderful company. The hotel also had a spa which we enjoyed a massage at. All in all this is one of my favorite countries and would love to come again to visit the volcanoes in the north.

You can save the itinerary for your future trip.
