Trip to London
Three Full Days in London
In January 2020 (before COVID-19 caused the world to stop) my friend and I traveled to London. Our trip began with a long flight from New York to Heathrow Airport. After making our way to our Airbnb we got some food then planned the rest of our three days before heading to our next destination.
Day One
We started our day bright and early with a cup of coffee and a trip to The British Museum. One great thing to know about visiting London is that all the museums are free and there are plenty to choose from. We only visited two during our stay but the Charles Dickens Museum, The National Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum and Science Museum are other interesting museums to check out.
If you love museums as much as I do you’ll love the British Museum where you can see the Rosetta Stone and the remains of Cleopatra.
We then went on to the London eye but we happen to go while undergoing maintenance. We weren’t able to get on during our trip because just so happens the three days we would be there were the three days it was being worked on. Of course Big Ben was also undergoing maintenance at the time.
Afterwards we kept walking and made our way to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Both were right by each other so we started with the Tower of London which is a castle that can be explored. Afterwards we moved along to the Tower Bridge and got to walk across.
We ended our first and longest day of the trip at the Sky Garden which had a gorgeous view of the city .
Day Two
Our second day started off with a day trip to the Stonehenge in Salisbury. We booked the day trip and were picked up by bus then driven to the historical landmark. It was wonderful to learn so much history about the landmark and see the progression of the stones over the years.
After our day trip we headed to the Museum of Natural History. Being from New York and growing up loving the Museum of Natural History there, I was not disappointed. My son would’ve loved to see the dinosaur exhibit and sea life exhibit.
Day Three
As two Harry Potter lovers of course we had to stop by the Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 3/4. Expect a line but I love that they let you choose the scarf depending on what house you’re with. Gryffindor all the way. We also took a walk to Buckingham palace and around the city which reminded us a lot of Manhattan.
