Trip to Paris

Three Full Days in Paris

In January 2020 my friend and I took a trip to Paris from London. We booked a high speed train which was rather comfortable and left us in the middle of the city.

Day One

We began our first day by visiting the Louvre Museum which was absolutely gorgeous inside and out. It is a museum you can spend all day in. From the mosaic ceilings to the statues and the paintings there is so much to admire.

Of course we made a stop to see the Mona Lisa. Be warned there was a line and a time limit for each visitor to see and take a picture of the Mona Lisa from a distance.

Our next stop was the Catacombs of Paris. We descended down into the catacombs and with an audio tour we learned all about the remains that were buried under the city of Paris. Not a scary tour if that’s what you’re expecting but of course they are real remains and there are countless skulls everywhere.

Day Two

Our next day started off with a tour of the Eiffel Tower. We went all the way to the top of the tower where it was a brisk but sunny day so we were able to see the parks near by.

After our tour we took a walk through Trocadero Gardens which was across from the tower.

As we continued walking we saw the Cathedral of Norte Dame which was undergoing maintenance after a fire occurred.

Our last stop for the day was the Musee D’orsay in which we were able to see The Starry Night by Van Gough.

Day Three

Our last day began with a day trip to to Versailles Palace. We took public transportation there and was just like taking the train in New York City.

The tour included a visit to the palace and the gardens which were stunning and can take up your whole day. This is somewhere I’d love to revisit in the summer where you can have a picnic outside or rent a canoe to go out on the lake. Definitely suggest comfortable shoes.

Our next stop was the Montparnasse Tower where we were able to relax and get a view of the city. We waited to watch the sunset and then see the lights of the Eiffel Tower turn on.

Our last full day ended with a stroll through the city and a visit to Arc de Triomphe. We purchased tickets and went to the top where we had another view of the city at night and of course my favorite the Eiffel Tower

We loved everything we ate in France especially the delicious crepes. My foodie friend even ate escargot which I tried and was actually quite tasty.

Some other places we wanted to visit but did not have enough time were:
Disney Paris
Luxembourg Gardens
Louis Vuitton Foundation museum

You can save the itinerary for your next trip to Paris.
